A new source of oil for pet food

Oils and fats are an important part of pet food formulation, contributing energy and nutrition as well as helping to create products that pets enjoy eating.

CLEANOil™ is a high-quality, fermentation-derived oil with a naturally high oleic composition. Produced using our specialist yeast, it provides an alternative source of oil without relying on traditional agricultural or animal-derived production.

There are potential benefits beyond the ingredient itself. Because CLEANOil™ is produced through controlled fermentation, production is less dependent on climate, harvest conditions and agricultural geography. Our process can also make use of circular feedstocks derived from food-industry side streams.

For an international industry with complex supply chains, we believe this combination of functionality, consistency and a different approach to sourcing is worth exploring.

Functional protein, with more to offer

Fermentation also gives us the opportunity to create value beyond the oil itself.

CLEANProtein+ is an animal-free and allergen-free functional protein produced as part of our fermentation process. Its hydrocolloid properties make it particularly interesting for formulation, with potential to contribute to texture, structure and stability within pet food products.

Importantly, CLEANProtein+ also reflects a wider principle behind our technology: making better use of each fermentation and finding valuable applications for more of what we produce.

Together, CLEANOil™ and CLEANProtein+ offer an early indication of how the CLEANOilCell™ platform could provide a broader range of useful ingredients for pet food.
